Puttur, Aug 29: An attempt to kidnap a 12-year-old boy was foiled due to the boy's presence of mind. This incident was reported from Laxmi Nagar of Uppinangady in the taluk.

The boy was returning from madrasa after submitting online examination papers when the incident took place.

The boy, son of Abdullah, a resident of Laximanagara was returning from madrasa when an unidentified person opened the door of a white Omni parked by the roadside, and pulled his hand. The boy bit his hand and ran for safety.

The boy reached home and narrated the incident to his family members. Locals and police started searching for the white Omni, but in vain.
