Udupi, Aug 29: IAS officer Kurma Rao has been appointed new deputy commissioner of Udupi district.
He will be replacing the current DC G Jagadeesha.
The order was issued by the state government on Sunday August 29.

An officer of 2011 batch, Kurma Rao presently serves as managing director of North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKSRTC) in Kalaburagi.
Outgoing DC Jagadeesha has been appointed joint secretary to chief minister Basarvaraj Bommai. He took charge as Udupi DC in 2019 and has ably handled the two waves of the coronavirus pandemic that hit the district in April 2020.
