Kalaburagi, Sep 1: "The Indian constitution authored by Dr B R Ambedkar will remain as long as Hindus are in majority. If Hindus become a minority, our country will face an Afghanistan-like situation," said BJP national general secretary, C T Ravi. He was addressing a press conference held in the light of the fast approaching city corporation election.
Launching a diatribe against the Congress, Ravi said that the BJP is a party that follows certain principles and ideals. "Our party is committed to Hindutva. If secular people become a minority, our country has no future," he stated. He noted that Kharge had created Buddha Vihar in Kalaburagi. He also said that DK brothers had damaged the idols of Buddha.
He claimed that Siddaramaiah does not want the Congress to win under the leadership of D K Shivakumar. "The Congress has been searching for a new president for the last two decades. The state Congress president has not yet been able to form his team. But he has been day-dreaming," he stated.
On the allegation made by Mallikarjun Kharge that no BJP leader was engaged in the freedom struggle, he wanted to know how many bullets have got embedded in Kharge's chest. "Shivakumar has no bullets in his chest, but he engages in goondaism. Taliban grows through Madrassas. It is enough if the people realise the book on which the Taliban is based," he remarked.
Taking exception to the Congress statement that Bommai has become like a caged parrot under the BJP rule, he said Bommai is a seasoned politician and that no one can cage such people. "We have internal democracy in the BJP, which is not so in the Congress. Congress is directly responsible for making sure that Kalyana Karnataka region remains utterly backward. People form here have most of the time supported the Congress because of which it remained backward. Congress concentrated in its own development than that of the region. Give the BJP a chance in Kalaburagi corporation election. We are committed to the integrated development of this region. Please provide the BJP an opportunity to rule the city corporation here," he appealed to the people.
