Bengaluru, Sep 1: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar on Wednesday said the State Government has set itself a target of providing 1.5 crore vaccine doses during the entire month of September.
Speaking to reporters in Kolar, he said the State Government has started a special drive of vaccinating 10 lakh eligible adults from this Wednesday onwards and ensure 5 lakh doses on all other days.
“We want to vaccinate all the eligible adults in Karnataka by the end of December,’’ he said urging all eligible adults to get themselves vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Dr Sudhakar said the State received the maximum of 1.12 crore doses of vaccine in the month of August, which was the highest supply in a single month since January this year.
The Health Minister, who is also in charge of Medical Education, condemned attempts by some vested interests to create misgivings and doubts about the effectiveness of vaccines and asserted that it was the best possible solution to tackle the Covid 19 pandemic.
He also visited several vaccination centres in Kolar district to inspect the special vaccination drive stated by the State Government throughout the State on all Wednesdays to vaccinate 10 lakh persons on a single day.
