Chikkamagaluru, Sep 2: Personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), on Wednesday September 1, arrested Arjun, police sub-inspector (PSI) of Gonibeedu police station, from Bengaluru. Arjun faces the charge of forcing a youth belonging to scheduled community to consume urine of another person at the police station.
K L Puneet from Kiragund in Mudigere taluk had alleged that Arjun had summoned him to the police station to question him relating to an alleged phone call he made to a woman. "He beat me up severely at the police station. When I asked for water to drink, he made another accused person to pee into my mouth. Besides, he also made me to lick the urine that had fallen on the floor," he had stated. On the basis of the complaint, a first information report was lodged in Gonibeedu police station against Arjun.

The investigation was entrusted to the CID. A team led by superintendent of police, Ravi D Channannavar, which began the investigation under the guidance of director general of police, B S Sandhu, arrested Arjun on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly happened on May 10, and the complaint was lodged on May 22. Arjun had gone missing after the registration of the complaint. He later filed petition in the first additional sessions court here for anticipatory bail. Judge of the court, K L Ashok, had quashed the petition.
