Mangalore, Oct 5: The body of a 28-year-old woman, who went missing from home in Odduru near Bajpe on Sunday morning, was found in a badly mutilated condition at a farmhouse on Monday. The woman, who has been identified as Sarojini, is believed to have been raped before she was murdered. The police are waiting for the results of the inquest.

More Updates:

The body of Sarojini was found in a deserted pumpshed, in semi-nude condition, and her under garments were found to have been removed. It is believed that she was raped by some miscreants before killing her by crushing her head with a laterite stone. One of her teeth had been broken, and a stone was found lying by the side of her body along with a bag of vegetables. Bushes and small plants near the site were found to have been crushed.

Sarojini, who used to work in a cashew factory in Kuppepadav, had left home on Sunday afternoon, telling the family members that she would be back after buying some clothes from Gurpur. Her body was found on Monday, just when the family was preparing to file a missing complaint with the policemen.

A case of murder has been registered in Bajpe police station. Police commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh, deputy commissioners of police, Ramesh and Mutturaya, and several other police officials visited the spot. Sarojini is survived by parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Punish the merciless culprit not by putting inside the bar for years, not by hanging but by cutting his parts one by one publicly. He should also know what is the pain. I pray god almighty to grant eternal rest to the departed soul of poor lady Sarojini.

Very very sad and tragic news.I hope that the culprit/s will not be set free for lack of evidence. If the culprits have political connections, it will be tough job for the police to prove the case. We pray that the parents, brothers and sisters will get the strength to overcome the loss of their dear one. May God grant her soul eternal peace.

This is a horrific incident that too this is happened in a small village in Oddur (Near Ganjimut) in the vicinity of the proposed Export Promotion Park. The horrific act is done by people who are familiar with the victim and the locality. Police should thoroughly investigate through DNA analysis and all other means to track these ruthless people who are pests to the entire society. People of Mangalore should act together irrespective of their caste and religion to put the pressure on the District Administration to track the culprits.
