Al Khobar: MASA Celebrates Talents Day 2010 in Grand Style

Alkhobar, Oct 5: “We have showcased best of performances with creativity and quality” was the expression of all the participants at Talents Day organized by Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia (MASA) at the auditorium in Dammam, Saudi Arabia here, recently.

The stage was set for a spectacular evening to follow. The event started with a welcome note by vice-president Ravi Karkera and general secretary Santosh Shetty. President Madhav Amin and management committee members honoured the judges.

The briefing of the contest was done by the vice-president. Competitions were held in singing, fancy dress and dance for different age groups in solo and group categories separately.

MASA Committee, volunteers and the participants ensured that the event was organized, professional and entertaining to the viewers. The main objective behind MASA Talents Day competition is to create a platform and to build up the confidence level and positive atmosphere among the participating members (kids, teens and adults). It was witnessed that, each and every competitor presented a stunning performance and mesmerized the audience and in return the audience gave thundering applause performance after performance. Slowly and steadily the complete auditorium was packed with audience.

During the course of the competitions lots of amazing talent with new concept, creativity and classic acts were observed in singing, fancy dress and dance competitions. Audience could not believe their own eyes that witnessed a quality display of varieties of amazing talent. Judges had a tough time in selecting the best among the best.

A gathering of around 600 people enjoyed the evening with entertainment, snacks and dinner. The programme that started at 4.15 pm, went on till 12 midnight.

During the event, the sponsors of the event were honored with bouquet. In a true MASA tradition, the parents on visit from India were welcomed to the stage. They were greeted and honoured with shawl by the executive committee members. As a good gesture, first wedding anniversary of MASA members, Chittaranjan Shetty and Archana Shetty, third anniversary of Viraj Kumar Shetty and Tripthi Shetty and also birthday of Praveen Aranha were celebrated. 



























































The anchoring of the event was done by Sarita Arhana, Victor Nobby Sequeira, Mahima S Poojary and Naveen Bandary. The judges were Arshad Anjum, Vivek Goswami, Rahul Kalra, Sadiqa Wahid, Vivek Kini, Prabhakar Putran and Narendra Shetty. Timers were Shekhar Tiwari and Dheeraj Sharma.  Award ceremony was conducted by chief judge Lancy D’ Souza.


The sponsors were Ivan Pinto, Joy Fernandez from Al Manafa Transport Services, Madhav Amin, Vidya Shetty, Vincent Saldanha, Dayanand Shriyan, Sadanand Poojary, Praveen  Aranha, Chittaranjan Shetty, Sukumar Shetty and group,  Vidyadhar  Shetty and group, Dr  Madhukar Devadiga of Badr Al Rabie Dispensary & Cornich Blue Cricketers.

MASA on the occasion also appreciated the dedicated services of Ahmed Gulam Beary and Usman Hosangadi in catering management, Sherief Karkala and Putta Raju in stage control, Viraj Kumar Shetty, Naveen Shetty and Sudhir Karkera in tracking and controlling the entire proceedings. MASA also acknowledges Mojith Mohan for beautiful stage decoration, lighting and video shooting, Abhi for sound system and Dhanraj for photography.

Before concluding the event vice-president Ravi Karkera proposed the vote of thanks and invited them for the MASA forthcoming attraction which is scheduled for Friday October 15.

    For the first time I attended MASA talents day and I never anticipated such an event ever held in conservative society like saudi arabia. The event was a huge success and here I must compliment young and energetic leaders like Madhav Amin, Ravi Karkera, Santosh Shetty, Dayanand Sriyan and those commetee members behind them at their back and call, wonderful evening, please accept my heartfelt compliments.

    Manamohaka karyakrama.Moondina dinagalalli matthashtu sadhane -yashassu MASAddagalli.Hechhechhu kannada ,tulu bhashege mannane sigali.     Event is great.. but photo-quality is not so attractive should be improved and to take training from daiji's daya atleast...just look into event photos of abudhabi/bahrain..any how well-done MASA..an oasis in the desert.. look forward for great event of food festival in near future.. jai ho..
