Mysuru, Sep 3: The parents of those accused of gang raping a girl at the foot of Chamundi Hill have pleaded with the police not to eliminate their children through encounters.
The police had visited the houses of the accused in Tamil Nadu to collect the clothes the accused wore on the day of the crime and the weapons they had used.
During these visits, the parents with folded hands and tears rolling down their cheeks, requested the police to spare the lives of their children.

The rumours that Karnataka police had decided to kill the gangrape accused through encounters has spread in Satyamangala, Erode, Talawadi and nearby areas to which the accused belong. Local media have given wide publicity to suggestions made by some Karnataka politicians to eliminate the accused through encounter.
The media have also been often discussing the possibility of the police choosing this route. This has given rise to a fear in the minds of the parents.
