Mangaluru, Sep 4: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V, said that the merchants who violate the orders issued by the district administration towards containing the spread of coronavirus infection will face stern action.
He gave this information at the video interaction on covid19 control measures he held on Friday September 3 along with zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Kumar, district health officer Dr Kishore Kumar, taluk medical officers, panchayat development officers and village assistants.
He mentioned that weekend and night curfew are in force in the district. "Those who overlook instructions and open their shops will face legal steps. Even the general public have to stick to restrictions and guidelines," he added.
Rajendra asked private hospitals to subject people visiting the hospitals with complaints of cold, cough or fever, to Covid tests without fail. If the infection is confirmed, they should be admitted into the Covid care centres and their primary contacts should be identified. If more than two infected people are found in a family, it should be converted into micro containment zone, he reminded.
The DC asked the hospitals to administer vaccinations to everyone aged over 18. "The vaccines supplied should be administered the same day. Every day, over 15,000 Covid tests should be performed. Anganwadi, ASHA workers and panchayat development officers should keep an eye on those in home quarantine. The medical officers concerned should visit homes and verify whether guidelines are followed. If the infected persons face more health symptoms, they should be admitted into care centres," he explained.
