Recoveries outnumber new cases in Karnataka, positivity rate at 0.71%

Bengaluru, Sep 5: Karnataka on Sunday September 5 recorded 1,117 new coronavirus infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 17,501. Among the districts, Bengaluru Urban registered the highest number of single-day cases with 358 new infections, while Dakshina Kannada reported 183 new cases.

 

Eight deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Bengaluru Urban alone recording five fatalities. With this, the toll so far has risen to 37,409.

The state recorded 1,354 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 29,00,228.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,55,164 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.71%, while the case fatality rate for the day was also 0.71%.

As many as 4,49,64,804 people have received vaccination so far.

    I hope these numbers are true and not another match fixing to please the traders and politicians (from both sides) in the name of Ganesh Chaturthi. If it is, it will be a very bad joke. There are some who will definitely die (purely statistical) if infected, however small.
