Chikkamagaluru, Sep 6: BJP national general secretary, C T Ravi, said that he had been jailed earlier because of undertaking agitations against wrong policies. "I was never imprisoned for corruption or rowdy activities," he said.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday September 5, Ravi stated that several cases have been registered against him for undertaking agitations on the basis of ideological difference. He added that he was never jailed for corruption or roughing up people, and never will be. "Kotwal Ramachandra was not alive during the period I became active in public life. Perhaps he died when I was in primary school. D K Shivakumar had proudly claimed himself to be the disciple of Kotwal Ramachandra, not me. There is a book containing the names of Kotwal Ramachandra's ardent followers. My name is not there in the list. I never considered that goondaism is a merit for politics," he stated.
On the issue of prices of commodities going up, Ravi said that it is a temporary phase and that the Congress need not organise protests against price hike. "When the Congress handed over power to the BJP, the LPG price was Rs 918 per cylinder. It then declined and again went up again. The entire world is going through global economic crisis created by Covid19. Agriculture is our main occupation and we import oil and other things from other countries," he said.
