Mounesh Vishwakarma, stage artiste and Daijiworld reporter, has been chosen for the B V Karant Youth Award by Namma Tuluver Kala Sangatane, Mudrady in Karkala taluk, which is on the threshold of its silver jubilee celebrations.
 
“The Award will be presented to Vishwakarma during the inaugural of the decennial celebrations of ‘Navarangotsav’ that will be held as a memorial to stage director R Nagesh on Friday October 8.  Dramatist Dr H S Shivaprakash, New Delhi, state higher education minister Dr V S Acharya, and Dr Jayaprakash Mavinakuli, will be present on the occasion”, informed Sukumar Mohan, president, Namma Tuluver Kala Sangatane and member, Karnataka Natak Academy.
 
Vishwakarma has been a stage performer for eight years through ‘Samsara’ drama troupe of Puttur and has acted in street plays and drama shows in various schools both in Puttur and Bantwal taluks.  He has also directed many dramas in schools and colleges for their annual day celebrations.
 
He is also a recipient of a scholarship from the union government for young artistes.
