Mangalore: Magma -2010, Enthralling Management Fest by Srinivas Institute

Mangalore, Oct 8: Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) organized ‘Magma-2010’, a National level inter-collegiate management fest under the theme of ‘Resurgent India’ on Friday October 8.

The fest was open for students pursuing under-graduate courses like BCom, BBM, BHM and BBA among others. It was organized with the purpose of equipping students with the modern competitive attributes.

A series of events like, Indrajaalin, Kaarya Chintaka, Aavartana, Vittha, Vikasa among others were held. The crisis-management abilities of the students were put into test.

Alok Mohan, IGP, Western Range, Mangalore was the chief guest for the inaugural function. In his address he called upon the students to inculcate good habits. “Money doest not resemble success, indeed success is an experience which is internally achieved by the individual”, he emphasized.

He also appreciated the founder of the institution for his efforts in bringing up such an esteemed institution. Even one percent of defect in our work is not acceptable. Success will come by the product of excellent quality, he added.

C A Raghavendra Rao, president of A Shama Rao Foundation, presided. He noted that great revolution is emerging in India and contribution from the management students for resurging India is essential.

A Srinivas Rao, vice-president of A Shama Rao Foundation was the guest of honour. He said that management does not mean mere commerce; it is an art, science and relates to psychology. He advised the students to read more books and to take part in more such college fests.

The programme was organized under the able guidance of Dr P S Aithal, principal of the college. D Shashikala R Rao, secretary, A Sham Rao Foundation, Dr P S Aithal, principal, SIMS, Dr K C Prasad, dean, SIMSR, Mukka,  Priti Jeevan, faculty co-ordinator,  Niveditha Mirajkar, co-ordinator of MBA, Kishore Shetty, president MBA student council and Rohan Shetty, student co-ordinator among others were present.

As many as 20 teams from various colleges in and around the state took part in the fest.
