Mangaluru, Sep 10: There is a possibility of moderate rainfall for the next two days in Dakshina Kannada district. Yellow alert is declared by the meteorological department. Rural parts of the district received moderate rain on Thursday September 9. The total rainfall of the district has received an upward trend.
According to the meteorological department, coastal Karnataka will receive moderate rains till September 11. So far Kollur of Udupi has received 9 mm of rain while Dakshina Kannada district received four to five mm rain. One house got completely damaged, while two were partially destroyed due to rain in the district.
From Wednesday morning till Thursday morning, Dakshina Kannada district received 18.6 mm of rain. In taluk wise rainfall Beltangady received 31 mm, Bantwal 11.4 mm, Mangaluru 14.4 mm, Puttur 13.6 mm, Sullia 9.4 mm, Moodbidri 21.2 mm and Kadaba 16.9 mm.
In the district of Udupi, 39.7 mm rain has been recorded in the past 24 hours. While Udupi taluk received 41.3 mm, Brahmavar, Kaup, Kundapur, Byndoor, Karkala and Hebri received 37.9 mm, 24.5 mm, 36.3 mm, 30.2 mm, 31.5 mm and 79.8 mm respectively.
Due to heavy rains three houses in Kanyana village of Kundapur and one house at Kidiyoor in Udupi taluk got partially damaged. The total cost of damage is estimated to be Rs 1.65 lac.
