Congress, JD-S have Kidnapped State MLAs, Alleges BJP

Panaji, Oct 9 (IANS): Eleven of the rebel Karnataka legislators staying at a five-star resort in Goa have been "forcefully kidnapped" by the Congress and Janata Dal-Secular, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader alleged Saturday.

Speaking to reporters outside the resort, BJP leader Ramesh Katti claimed that senior Goa police officials were used to physically shift the legislators out of a hotel, with the help of hired goons. Katti, a BJP parliamentarian from Karnataka, with other BJP leaders, was trying to lure five BJP and six Independents MLAs back to the BJP fold.

"In all, thirteen MLAs, who include seven BJP MLAs and six Independents, have been kidnapped by the Congress and the JD-S using goons and police machinery," Katti said. Only two legislators, including Renuka Acharya, managed to evade the "kidnapping attempts", he added.

"Talks were going well till afternoon. Suddenly police officers came with several goons and physically lifted our MLAs. The Goa police were literally protecting the goons who were manhandling the MLAs," Katti said.

The MP also said that ministers of the Goa government, including Home Minister Ravi Naik and Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao, had been using the state government machinery to intimidate the legislators.

"The JD-S and the Congress are using huge amounts of money... Rs.25 crore is being offered to each MLA to vote for the no-confidence motion," Katti alleged.

Earlier, BJP leaders claimed that most major issues raised by the dissenting Karnataka legislators had been resolved. North Goa BJP MP Shripad Naik said that things were optimistic for the party.

On Thursday, JD-S leader H.D. Kumaraswamy, who camped in the five-star resort and was holding talks with the rebels, expressed confidence that the B.S. Yeddyurappa government would not last Monday's trust vote. "Just wait till then. You will realise. All the dissenting MLAs are together and they are united," Kumaraswamy told reporters, before heading for Bangalore Thursday afternoon.

The JD-S leader, who reached Goa Thursday, refused to reply to questions on whether the JD-S would be supporting a Congress-led government in Karnataka in the near future.

If the CM and the rest of the
    Misters are spending the whole
    time in this dirty political
    game of defection, kidnapping
etc, then who is now running the
    government? The Governor has to
    dismiss this government, and bring
    Karnataka under central rule.

If somebody can get the copyright
to produce a movie about the BJP
    government titled "sounds of
sorrows", it can be sold by the
    millions. May I request the
CM to get the copyright and start
    producing with the best movie
stars in India, and you can retire
from politics and enjoy life for the rest of your life with total
laughter. It is time to quit
    politics because you look totally
    burned out.

CM Yeddy you did the same when church was attacked by your goons in Mangalore all your goons were covered up by your BJP govt and allowed to damage more churches and sent our young boys to prision for no reasons. Now your time when your chaddi comes down you feel the pressure. Nagesh Naik need to comment on this becasue these are your brokers.

It surprises me that 'adults', 'men', 'a group of 13 people' can be kidnapped as well!!!! What will happen now to all those who belong to the vulnerable category - children, women... ???
Nonetheless the term 'kidnapping' sounds extremely dramtic and traumatic too.
If the ministers allow themsleves to be 'kidnapped' for financial benefits, they will also allow themselves to be 're-kidnapped'. This is the cheap politics of our state.
Great to see the one-time rebel Reddys mediating...

Funny to see BJP crying now. They are responsible for this by doing operation Kamala. There is a Sanskrit saying..."Yatha karni..thatha bharni"..As you sow, you reap...So BJP deserves this..

If Karnataka was a separate country, civil war could be happening now under the military leadership of cow-expert Bhardwaj. Atleast to that extent Karnataka is spared from mayhem. Now what I be predicting is, there will be war on the floor of Vidhansoudha on 11th because JD(S) loss would mean political suicidal for Gowda and Sons. Win or lose, time has come for Yeddyurappa to take back seat.

Accdg to a news paper a strong JD(S) MLA frm Chenna Patna has disappeared now. When Jd(S) workers went to check if the is at home it was found his house was guarded by some top police officers as a protection. Who he is behind this incident ?
On the otherhand yeddy says his dissident MLAs are kidnapped. These were dissident MLAs since almost a year or more & this is nothing new & so where is the question of kidnapping them? BJP is having discussions with them now & so how can we say they are kidnapped? Its natural ooposition is trying to take advantage of situation. They are politicians afterall. Didnt Yeddy carry out unethical operational kamala ????

Yeddy accdg to a newspaper said his MLAS were offered a big sum from opposition whereas accdg to paper a Yeddy follower MLA who was spying the activities of these dissident MLAS has openly said there was no Offer from opposition for these MLAS.
Yeddy had started operational Kamala by taking opposition MLAS & giving them prominent plum positions by sidelining his own very loyal MLAS & now looks like he is paying a heavy price for this now! What goes around & comes around Or what goes around comes around !!!!!!!

And then you had operation Kamala to buy elected members of other parties.

Having done these things in past why do you cry now. They are doing the same thing except that it is being done in the five star resort of Goa.
