Dubai : SMKC’s 'Konkan Showers - 2010' Promises to be Scintillating

Dubai, Oct 11: As the final countdown begins for the SMKC's annual event, 'Konkan Showers', the stage has been completely set for the show, and the organizers have made elaborate preparations to thoroughly entertain the audience, at the Al Nasr Leasureland Ice Rink on Thursday, Oct 14, 2010.
"The event, which will kick off at 8 pm, will continue to hold the audience at the venue spellbound until early morning of Friday, with some of the finest fast numbers being presented by Mandd Sobhann troupe, as well as dance performance and comedy skits by Daiji Rang Madhir artistes," said SMKC's main co-ordinator, Jennifer Mascarenhas, a charming lady at the helm of SMKC. It may be recalled that a lady is heading SMKC for the first time since its formation.

"As usual, our aim is to do the charity by giving the best entertainment to the audience. We have designed some quality events for the October 14 event, to ensure that all kinds of audience will enjoy the event. For the first time, we are introducing Eric Ozario and troupe, known to be one of the best entertaining groups from Mangalore," she said.
A 10-member troupe from Mangalore is set to arrive here on Monday October 11. Along with the star attraction, Eric-Joyce couple, Zeena and Prakash will be rendering some of the best Mandd Sobhann numbers.
The speciality of the music show will be the rendering of some scintillating numbers dating back to 1960s and 1970s by Mandd Sobhann troupe, which will surely take the audience down the memory lane. These numbers have stood the test of time, and remain evergreen in the hearts of Konkani music lovers.
Arun Raj Rodrigues, well-known compere from Mangalore, will be the host for the Konkani event.

There will be a number of surprise gifts for the audience, including air tickets from leading airlines. Apot prizes, games, novelty show and other entertainments will also form part of the 'Konkan Showers' package.
Radio Spice RJ, Vaishali Rodrigues, will be the English compere for the event.
A sumptuous dinner is included in the ticket price.
"SMKC has been helping many needy families in the UAE and back home, and a number of deserving students have been able to fulfil their aspirations to continue professional and vocational studies. SMKC plans to continue with these initiatives this year too," said Jennifer Mascarenhas, talking about the prime motto of SMKC, that is, charity.
