Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 13: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, Sep 13 reported 115 new coronavirus cases and six deaths, while Udupi registered 75 new cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 16,87,413 samples have been tested so far, out of which 15,74,952 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,12,461 out of which 1,604 are currently active.
As many as 237 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.
The district recorded six deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,618.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,05,99,070 as fine in 87,064 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 10,53,231 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 75 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 75,202 out of which 1,514 are currently active.
A total of 62 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.
Out of 75 new patients, 60 are in home isolation while 15 are in Covid-designated hospitals.
Among the 75 cases, as many as 46 are symptomatic and 29 are asymptomatic.
While Udupi reported 42 new cases, Kundapur registered 10 and Karkala 21 and two case were from out of district.
Coronavirus has claimed 459 lives in the district so far.
So far 8,37,504 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 3,20,013 have received the second dose.
A total of 52 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
