Mangaluru, Sep 16: Konaje police rescued two cows that were being taken to an illegal slaughterhouse at Marikala, border area between Kerala and Karnataka, as per the information given by Bajrang Dal (BD).
The pickup vehicle that was transporting the two cows without proper documents was stopped by the police at Poopadi Kallu Cross near Mudipu Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and the cows were rescued. The police acted on definite information from Bajrang Dal on the morning of Thursday September 16.
Police took into custody two men who were in the pickup. It is said that the accused gave excuse to the police that these cows were purchased by a local agriculturist of Poopady Kallu from the milk producers’ society and they were transporting the same to be delivered to the agriculturist.
Pavithra Karebail, chief of district goraksha of Bajrang Dal accused that everyday cows are being taken to Marikala illegal slaughterhouse by creating fake documents. He also urged the police to conduct thorough investigation and take stringent action on the accused.
