BANGALORE, Oct 12: Thanks to the decision of the Division Bench of Karnataka High Court to defer the hearing and possible ruling on the writ petitions filed by the 16 disqualified MLAs challenging the decision of the Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah till October 18, the beleaguered Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has accepted the ``second chance” offered by Governor H R Bhardwaj to prove his majority in the House by October 11 am on October 14.

Yeddyurappa, who had taken exception to the sudden turnaround by the governor and offer of the second chance to prove majority when his government had demonstrated its strength in the assembly by voice vote, has agreed to take up the offer.

The Chief Minister has informed Raj Bhavan in writing, through a letter sent by his principal secretary I S N Prasad, of his decision to offer a second opportunity to prove his majority.

Yeddyurappa, who has rushed to Delhi along with all the 105 BJP MLAs, including ministers, for a parade before Rashtrapathi Bhavan on Tuesday evening, has decided to cut short his Delhi visit and return to Bangalore. The Chief Minister and MLAs are expected to reach Bangalore by 8 pm or 9 pm.

Meanwhile, former Union Minister and Karnataka Government’s Special Representative in Delhi Dhananjaya Kumar, who spoke to DAIJIWORLD from Delhi, confirmed that the party’s high command had directed Yeddyurappa to take up the offer and prove the Government’s majority again.

``We have been claiming from the beginning that the Government has a clear majority in the House. We had reservations about the Governor’s quixotic decisions and interference in the functioning of the Speaker and the Government. But at no point of time, we had any reservations or doubts about the Government’s majority,” he said.

Asked about the deferment of the hearing on the disqualification of the 16 MLAs by the High Court, Dhananjaya Kumar contended that it was a decision taken by the Speaker in accordance with the rules and 10th Schedule of the Constitution or anti-defection law.

``The Governor cannot question the decision, though the aggrieved parties can challenge the same in courts. We will abide by the Court verdict,” he said.

BJP Government in karnataka has lost all its credibility. People of karnataka has no respect to this Government and particularly if Yeddy continue to be the CM.If a leader has no ethical values, can survive only with rogues and corruption which has been registered in the minds of Karnataka people. Yeddy cannot run the Government impartially and therefore he will bring more shame to BJP.Require a man with spiritually clean and who can love the poor and needy.

I am sure yeddy's second chance would be very futile if it is conducted transparently. A honourable man will accept defeat graciously.Karnataka is watching?

Just for the sake of the party involved is BJP, particular section of people should not speak against. Please introspect what has happened in the 60 long years of Congress rule. Take the recent Jharkhand and Goa No-Confidence cases, then you will shut up. Generally politicians take a slightest sympathy. Here BJP is having more such facility, that's it. Example Congress Governor, Open Horse Trading by Kumaraswamy with support from Congress. Did the governor turn blind eye when rebels were touring city to city, resort to resort, hotel to hotel. Only thing everyone and as a citizen of India expect is constitutional amendments and changes like what happened with five-year industrial plan. Congress did not implement this from 1950s in electioneering, government process. Had it been the case, now goondas, uneducated culprits, money looters, rapists, person married more than one woman, also with more than two children, dynastic politics, etc. would not have occured.
who ever may be it..first we shoild thrwo the crooks..so first it shoiuld begin from soniajis slave bhradvaj..
tehn peole of karnataka shoiuld decide on bjp or congress with good leaders..
no name should be there of jds or slave bhardvaj..

Yesterday i wrote yeddy is making fool of himself. He wasted money by taking his MLAs to Delhi, came back empty handed. Now he has become puppet in the hands of his MLAs. All the ego is gone. one day he will go to GUV and cry like woman. When Reddy brothers took 50 MLAs he went cried with Governer. kind hearted GUV belived his Crocodile tears. Like Renukacharya Yeddy too knows how to shed tears with one eye.
