Mangalore, Oct 13: The annual Parish Feast of Milagres Church known as the 'Feast of the Lady of Miracles’ was celebrated in a befitting manner during the Centenary Year of the Church on Wednesday October 13.

The day’s programme began with the distribution of honours. The sponsors of the feast were honoured with a candle personally handed over the parish priest Fr Walter D’Mello. Following this, there was a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration concelebrated by all the priests of the varado parishes. Fr Dr Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga was the main celebrant.

Assistant parish priest Thomas Roshan D’Souza, Fr Stany Goveas of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Marcel Monteiro, chair person, Centenary Organizing Committee, Alwyn Rosario, vice-president, Parish Pastoral Council and Gerald Pinto, secretary, Parish Pastoral Council among others were present on the occasion.

The Holy mass was held on Sunday October 10. On Tuesday October 12, evening, there was a Vespers followed by the fireworks. A special choir was prepared by the parishioners themselves for all the three days.

The entire campus got a festive look right from the Confraternity Sunday till the Feast day on Wednesday with all kinds of stalls in the campus- sweets, entertainment, games, cutlery, fireworks, footwear, clothing, fruits, juices, ice-creams and so on. The entire celebration was filled with faith, fun and frolic.
