People, it is learnt, are not getting vaccines in government hospitals now and also getting the children tested whenever there are symptoms of cold and fever. Experts are of the opinion that the children who were confined to the secure atmosphere of home for the last several months, have now suddenly opened up to the outside weather and this could be the reason for the prevalence of flu symptoms. They have asked the parents not to worry but to exercise caution.
Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, Dr Rajendra K V, said that flu symptoms should not be neglected and it would be proper for the doctors to suggest getting those suffering from fever symptoms to undergo corona RT-PCR test. He said that the district currently does not have large scale prevalence of fever but advised the parents to be cautious and get those suffering from fever tested. District health officer Dr Kishore Kumar also said that viral fever turns into bacterial infection after four to five days if it does not subside and then transforms into pneumonia. Therefore, he has advised the people to approach the doctors at the first onset of fever.
