Bangalore : Yeddy Wins Trust Vote Again

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 14: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa won the floor test in the Karnataka Assembly for the second time in three days by 106 votes against 100 from the combined Congress and JD(S) opposition members on Thursday.

While BJP member from Lingsugur Manappa Vajjal abstained, JD(S) member from Channapatna M C Ashwath also abstained.

The strength of the 225 member assembly, including nominated member and speaker, had been reduced by 16 members following the disqualification of 11 BJP members and 5 Independents. The absence of 2 members meant the strength of the House had been reduced to 206.

State Assembly Speaker Rejects Oppn Plea for Postponing Session

Bangalore, Oct 14 (PTI): Karnataka Legislative Assembly today rejected plea by Opposition Congress for postponing the session convened to take up the motion of confidence by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and went ahead with voting on it.

"This session has been specifically convened on the direction of the Governor to conduct the trust vote and it cannot be postponed," Speaker K G Bopaiah declared when opposition Congress leader Siddaramaiah demanded postponing of the motion till the High Court pronounced its verdict on a batch of petitions filed by 16 MLAs challenging their disqualification.

Yeddyurappa later moved a one-line motion -- "This House expresses confidence in the government led by B S Yeddyurappa".

The Speaker put the motion to vote and all the BJP members supported it by voice vote and Siddaramaiah demanded a division of votes, which was accepted.

The motion moved by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa secured the support of 106 MLAs and was opposed by 100 MLAs. The Yeddyurappa government has won the motion of confidence, Bopaiah announced.

Congrats to BJP for having pulled off this one. But at the same time i feel that the BJP high command should consider replacing Yeddi with an able administrator and non controversial leader like Shri Ananth Kumar lest we might see more 'nataka's' like this. Yeddi has proven to be a liability and has always put BJP on the backfoot.

Its high time that BJP does some serious introspection.

it is high time all the political parties stop 'Horse Trading' in different names like 'Operation Kamala' etc.
I wish Lokayukta and Income Tax department should follow those MLAs who betrayed the people who elected them and sold themselves for Crores of dirty black money. Such MLAs are cheap & dirty politicians in our society whom we elect to get themselves sold to fill their coffers.

Now that for 2nd time BSY has proved ( irrespective of what court says as of today), will Governer HRB accept this and gracefully exit from Bangalore. This useless, good for nothing former law minister virtually brought the state down by creating and encouraging this constitutional crisis. If he does not, will MADAM ITALY and MMS sack him? I always thought Ramlal, Romesh Bhandari, Buta Singh, Sibte Razi, SC Jamir were some of the worst Congress picked Governers who turned RAJ BHAVAN into CONGRESS BHAVAN in their respective states. But Bhardwaj has gone one step forward and actually played a key role in this whole Congress drama, front ended by JD(S). Looks like Congress has not learnt any lesson from Gujrat and MP. They tried all tricks to oust MODI and eventually they have indirectly turned him into a HERO today. They cant even think of dethroning him in Gujarat. Same with Shivraj Chouhan in MP. Fools in Congress are not realising that people in Karnataka are watching all this and next time will vote for BSY even more stronger and make him MODI of south. This whole SHAME of toppling democratically elected oppsition Govts is in Congress DNA since last 60 yrs and may be it wont go away so soon. Old habits die hard you see!!!!

Guys guys guys wait for the celebration. It’s still the congress the grandpa of the house! Huge sum is to float which is retained from Kalmadi sir for the purpose you will see the changes now. Best way out is BJP to dissolve the gov and election. Not to worry, money is printed left right and centre. HDK and team will take care of it and will ensure it’s not tax payer’s money. Otherwise there should be a way to spend the huge tax collected is it not? Mining started in Karnataka years ago! Kudremukh did with it, Bellary is on going don’t forget film stars kidnapped on the issues! Many of us construct house for the sake of saving tax money reimburse. All are smart India and is shining begging has become a part time job for many. Wait another 22 years many resume to flow from elsewhere for a job in India. The government and system do exit or not. Intention is just to save some EXTRA money.

My sincere opinion is that whatever be the reason the elelcted govt should not be topled and should be allowed to complete its term. If corruption is the only reason for toppling the govt then whole of India does not deserve to have a Govt bcse all are corrupt. Hence it is a bad act to try to tople the ruling govt which came to power after winning largest no. of seats. (This principle can be applied to all parties). Oppositions should their single agenda of pulling the govt down. It is in the interest of the State & the Country. Hence I hope even after the court verdict, the status quo remains and people will get oppertunity to decide who should rule for next term after the present govt's term finishes.

We do not want election again. In this angle, I welcome BJP/BSY to continue in the power. Every one is playing dirty politics and justifying themselves what they did is right. This is not the end of the drama. Now it will be a daily affair and we have to bear these without any option left. Worse part is, we have accept that this is democary/indenpendce. I am anticiapting that still more worse situations are continue. The ethics are gone for toss. Can not help and we have to live in this type of atmosphere.

It is time for Siddaramaish to behave in more matured way as Opposition Leader. All those who masterminded ingenious and crooked plan got what they deserved. As far defectors , they have learnt a lesson for the life and their fate is sealed. Their status is that of DHOBI KA KHUTHHA NA GHAR KA , NA GHAT KA and what happened now is a stern warning to mischievous politicians not to indulge in such nefarious activities.
