Dubai, Oct 16: The third anniversary celebrations of ‘Nama Tuluveru UAE’ started with a warm welcome address by Shodhan Prasad, and lighting of the lamp by core committee members of the organization, on October 15, 2010, at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai.

Kalasangama troupe, led by renowned theatre personality, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, presented two plays, ‘Kutumba’ and ‘Seetha Teacher’, both of which are full of rib-tickling comedy scenes and entertainment. Both the plays ended by giving a message of family values, misleading media coverage and awareness about major diseases like AIDS, to the audience. Kodialbail’s plays always have a good storyline and a very relevant social message for the masses.

‘Nama Tuluveru’ has decided to hand over the proceeds from these shows to two special needs schools functioning back home, i.e., Saanidya Special Needs School, Mangalore, and Arunodaya Special Needs School, Karkala. It may be recalled that the organization had recently put forth united efforts and contributed immensely towards the release of Lohitaksha from a Saudi prison.

At the final stage of the first play, a stage programme was held to felicitate all the sponsors and well wishers. ‘Nama Tuluveru’, headed by Shodhan Prasad, and all the core committee members, felicitated the sponsors and well-wishers by presenting designed mementos as a token of appreciation and respect.
During the breaks, two video clips of the Tulu film, ‘Oriyardori Assal’, were exhibited on the digital screen. This film is due to be released in November this year.

At the end of the second play, ‘Nama Tuluveru’ honoured the entire drama troupe by handing over mementos and bags of Sapil gift hampers.

Vijaykumar Kodialbail and his wife, Roopalaxmi, were felicitated in a unique way. Praveen Shetty of Fortuna Hotels presented flowers to the couple. Shekhar Shetty of Arab Udupi draped a shawl, and presented a memento, while Shivanand Hebbar of Sapil Scents and Perfumes presented a basket of fruits. Sathish V of Chilli Willies handed over the citation.

Vijaykumar Kodialbail said that he was happy to stage two of his Tulu plays as part of the maiden show organized by ‘Nama Tuluveru UAE’, which is celebrating its three years of existence. He hailed the organization for supporting and promoting Tulu culture in this part of the world, and at the same time, serving a good cause.

The plays, ‘Kutumba’ and ‘Seetha Teacher’, presented by Kalasangama troupe, proved to be highly successful in winning over the hearts of the audience. The imprint left by the plays will continue to be in the memories of the people here for long. Members of ‘Nama Tuluveru’ proved that they are well- organized, systematic and disciplined group, by organizing the programme in an orderly manner and facilitating the audience to enjoy the plays to the fullest.

The entire event was compeered by Shodhan Prasad, who also thanked each and everyone, who contributed to make this event a memorable one.

No doubt Vijaya kumar kodial bails drama are worth watching, certainly for the people who lack general knowledge cos a lot informative messages are thrwon out to public, which may look presumptuously "boring" for the educated or rather less comedy and more info. Nice to see Mr Shodan, Vijay, Navins Mom etc Is there a cd available on net purchase?? Tx to daiji. Good luck to Vijay Kodial.
