Mangaluru, Sep 23: After MLC Tejaswini Ramesh alleged in the Legislative Council session that Mangaluru police have failed to register a complaint from a victim who was sexually exploited and betrayed in the name of love on Thursday September 23, city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar speaking to media informed that the police officers cooperated with the victim and a case was registered immediately after she filed a complaint.
He said, "The woman, who is from Mysuru has claimed that on September 21, she had visited the accused's residence claiming that she was betrayed and cheated by him. But, she was slapped at his residence by his family member and was sent away from the place. Later, while she was sitting at Konaje bus stand, shedding tears, the public who noticed this, called 112. The police went to the bus stand and took her to the police station to inquire about her condition. At the station, the police informed the woman that she can file a complaint in Konaje itself. But the woman told the station officer that her advocate has advised that if she files the case in Mysuru, her case will be stronger. Hence, she decided to file a complaint in Mysuru.
