Kasargod, Oct 16: Anti-Terrorist Squad of Karnataka Police has arrested a suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba militant allegedly involved in various cases, including the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts.
 
Suspected LeT ’commandant’ Ibrahim (48) was arrested on Friday October 15 night at Badiyadukka in Kasargod district on specific information collected by the ATS, police said.

Another suspect, Umar Farooq, was also arrested in Ajmer Rajasthan. He will be brought to Bangalore shortly.

Hailing from Vellimunda of Wayanad district of Kerala, Ibrahim had been residing at Badiyadukka for the last one-and-a-half years, police at Kasargod said.

He was also allegedly involved in the Ernakulam Collectorate bomb blast in July last year and also in the recruitment of youths for militant activities in Kashmir, police said. None was injured in the Collectorate bomb blast that was triggered by an improvised explosive device.

The ATS has taken Ibrahim to Bangalore, police said.

    This kind of people misuse religion and seek job in any mosques in the country to work as Mukri, Moulvi etc. The unsuspected mosque authority gives them job in good faith.
    I wanted the police department to instruct the religious places in the country to get a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the nearest Police Station of the new job seeker before appointing them.
    The common public should understand that it the bad character of the people of any believer and not the good teaching of any religion are bad.
