Fujairah: Antony D’Silva Elected President of Canara Catholics

Fujairah (UAE), Oct 17: Antony D'Silva was elected president of Canara Catholics Fujairah (CCF) during their general body meeting held at the Fujairah Church hall recently. Other new office-bearers for the year 2010-2011 were also elected during the meeting.

A smart, dynamic leader and a good organizer, Antony has served CCF under various capacities in the past. He was also the chief co-coordinator during the year 2008 and the member of executive committee since the inception of CCF.

Also elected are Prakash Rodrigues as the chief coordinator, Roy Veigas as treasurer and Ovina Saldanha as general secretary. Both Antony D’Silva and Ovina Saldhanha hail from Udyavar while Prakash Rodrigues is from Kinnigoli and Roy Veigas from Mangalore.

The new executive committee also consists of a couple of advisors and members.

In his speech Antony thanked the members and promised to continue the good work with the support of all. The outgoing president Benedict Saldanha thanked everyone for their support and wished success for future activities.
