Mangalore: Goods Tempo Hurtles Down Gorge, Two Killed

Mangalore, Oct 18: In an accident that occurred at around 5.30 am on Monday October 18, a mother and her child were killed on the spot, after the goods tempo in which they were travelling, dived into a 40 ft gorge near Netravati Bridge in Ullal.





The deceased have been identified as Zeenat (33), and her child, Samanah (5), from Adyar Kannur. They were on a visit to the house of a relative in Ullal. They were going back home in the said tempo, when tragedy struck. The tempo driver and another child of Zeenat, who also were travelling in the ill-fated tempo, miraculously survived with minor injuries.

A case in this connection has been registered in Ullal police station. Investigation is on.

    Mr.Navin u r right. Talapady-Mangalore NH17 road is very worst.Where is our "Nethas'? Just wait for sometime again assembly election is approaching then everybody will appear for begging the votes. Till then what is happening? God knows

    Dear Ummer/Vasanth, Not the driver fell asleep might be due to stupidity of NH officials not repairing the detoriated roads as this NH 17 fm pumpwell to Talapady worst condition all vehicles plying are moving in a proceesion by dancing

    Very sad news! no doubt the driver of goods tempo had slept when the accident take place.otherwise accident will not happen, the place is not an accident zone or a danger place.
