Byndoor, Sep 27: A case stands registered at Gangolli police station against certain persons, accusing them of capturing on video the slaughter of cows near the house of Mali Rizwan in Gangolli village and other places, and sharing the same on social media. The complaint says that those who made the video and uploaded the same want to ignite communal passions.

The case has been filed against several people. It is said that the cows were stolen and brought to near the fish market of Gangolli, a communally sensitive area. Their legs were tied together in a violent way and killed in a crude manner with the specific intention of hurting Hindu sentiments. The video was uploaded in social websites on September 24. The complaint mentions that the concerned had illegally slaughtered the animals in public places with the aim of starting communal violence.

Mali Rizwan, Moulvi and Urdu school head, Maullana Hadi, Iliyas living near Janata Ice Factory, Mali Subhan, Abu Sali, Abdul Razack, Majeed alias Fitter Majeed, Mohammad Ibrahim, Imam Shekh and others have been named as accused. Gangolli police are investigating.

    Beef is banned in India. Even our Finance Minister has confirmed this in parilament.Only meat of buffalo (kara beef ) is allowed for export. But some may export beef illegally .That is different issue. The Foreign Trade Policy of India prohibits the export of beef of cows, oxen and calves. But it allows buffalo meat to be exported.

    Your are right. So called Indian beef available in GCC countries is buffalo meat not cow. In Arabic it is labelled as 'jamoos' not 'baqar.'

    Dear Suhail from Dubai, Your question is pertinent but also naïve. Slaughter for beef is allowed everywhere, but in designated slaughter house. This was not. Yet, year after year, controversy is created by openly culling and very often stolen livestock and this time video is made to instigate (time tested and a text book recipe provided several centuries ago to instigate).What is the relation between beef export and ill-intended intent of select few in Gangolli and what has Modi to do with this? In Dubai, can you steal a cow and cull it in your home and make a video and share on social media and still survive to ask this question on Daijiworld in time?

Nowhere does it suggest it is 8 year old video. Let us say, it was 8 year old video, what is the intent of uploading it again on September 24? Intent is clearly malicious viz., to spread communal hatred and create unrest. The Government then might have allowed. So many illegal things happened and there are many non-bailable warrant issued by the courts which was never implemented. That does not mean that it was correct then, nor it is correct today to upload it again in the hope of creating unrest.

    Video was shot 8 to 10 years ago probably during Qurbani, at that time it was not banned, and some one uploaded it to disturb the communal atmosphere. And we know who are expert in it. Yes, one has to b careful when clicking such sensitive videos as it may disturb the atmosphere. But every kids has a mobile now, how to stop them from taking videos.
