Kundapur, Sep 27: Students of Charmakki Narayana Shetty Memorial government high school of Albady Ardy village of the taluk in Udupi district bagged the fourth place in the national level Innovation award for school children - 2021 organized by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of ministry of science and technology of union government.
Anusha and Rakshitha Naika, students of the school were awarded with the honour in a virtual programme, by vice president Venkaiah Naidu that was held on Sunday September 26. Union minister for science and technology Dr Jeetendra Singh and other senior officials were present.
Charmakki Narayana Shetty School is the only government school in the country that has secured CSIR award and the only one in Karnataka.
Anusha and Rakshitha had made a ‘Gas Saving Kit’ which saves cooking gas, at a cost of Rs 600. If the copper pipe which is helical in shape is installed to the gas burner, hot water enough to bathe four people will be ready by the time rice gets cooked.
Earlier, a promo video of the same school was selected for ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme with Prime Minster Narendra Modi. Anusha was selected to have conversation with Modi.
