Doha: Enthusiastic Response for Karnataka Sangha’s Talent Search Competition

Doha, Oct 19: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) had organised Talent Search Competition, an annual feature, for its members and their children, at Malayali Samajam premises on October 15, 2010. A good number of people took part in the competitions in different categories like painting, singing, dancing and elocution, which were held on October 8 at Qatar Malayali Samajam from 8 am to 12 pm, and again from 3 pm to 8 pm. About 90 children enthusiastically took part in these competitions.
 
Mysore Manjunath Rao, who was the anchor for these competitions, succeeded in keeping the audience occupied with his fluent Kannada, inimitable style of presentation, and one-line quizzes, which came in for lavish praise from the people present. The painting competition drew the highest registration, with more than 60 children taking part in it.





















































The finals of the fancy dress competition was held on October 15. Shreya Ragavendra and Yashas Lakappa compered the event. Hindi cine dances performed by the children held the audience spellbound.
 
All the children, who participated in the talent search competitions, were given a certificate each apart from a gift, on behalf of KSQ.

President of Sangha, Arun Kumar, welcomed the gathering and thanked the children as well as their parents for all the support and encouragement extended to the Sangha towards making this programme a grand success.
 
Chief guest of the evening M R Qureshi, second secretary, Indian Embassy of Qatar, distributed prizes to the winners.
 
Milan Arun, head of affiliation and councillor service, Ramachandra Shetty, president, Tulu Koota Qatar, Ravi Shetty and Prakash Chandra Ajila, former presidents of Tulu Koota Qatar, Prabhakar and Arvind Patil, former presidents of Karnataka Sangha Qatar, M Iqbal Manna, social activist, and Muneer Ahmed Sheikh, general secretary, KMCA, were also present on the occasion.

At the end, Rachana Ravi Shetty proposed vote of thanks.

    KSQ's Annual Children Talent search was huge success with more than 130 children taking part actively in different categories like painting, singing, dancing, fancy dress and elocution. Team KSQ lead by Arun Kumar deserves appreciation for well arranged program.
