Mangaluru, Sep 28: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold which was being smuggled by a passenger on Monday September 27.
Gold weighing 310.000 grams of 24 carat purity valued at Rs 14,69,400 was seized by the officials from the male passenger hailing from Kasargod, Kerala who arrived from Sharjah by Indigo flight no 6E8461.
The gold was concealed in powder form inside a chocolate coloured trouser worn by the passenger.
An offence case was registered.
