Kuwait: GSB Sabha Honours Basti Vaman Shenoy, Dr P Dayanand Pai

Kuwait, Oct 19: GSB Sabha, Kuwait honoured renowned, eminent personalities Basti Vaman Shenoy, Dr Panemanglur Dayanand Pai and S Mohini D Pai, Panambur Vitobha Bhandarkar, Kumble Gopinath Bhat during its monthly Bhajan satsang held recently.

GSB Sabha Kuwait president Haridas Acharya welcomed the guests with a presentation of bouquets by children while Prakash Pai introduced the visiting personalities. On behalf of GSB Sabha Kuwait, mementos were presented to the guests by Eknath Vernekar, Purushottam Nayak, Sudhir Shenoy and Vishwanath Prabhu.

While thanking the GSB Samaj Kuwait for the honour, Basti Vaman Shenoy in his speech stressed on the importance of preserving and improving Konkani language, culture, tradition for our future generation. He explained the efforts undertaken by Vishwa Konkani Center established in Mangalore in this regard. He wished good health to all the members and their families.

Dr P Dayanand Pai while thanking GSB Sabha Kuwait for the honour, expressed his happiness to be able to attend the bhajan programme and meet fellow GSB community members in Kuwait. He was happy to note the involvement of children in the Bhajan satsang. He gave a summary of his efforts towards the preservation and promotion of Konkani language and people through Vishwa Konkani Center. He advised that one should help those who are in need not with cash alone but also by showing them ways to lead life by giving education, job etc. Panambur Vitobha Bhandarkar and Kumble Gopinath Bhat thanked GSB sabha Kuwait for honouring them.

Dinesh Kamath proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude on behalf of GSB Sabha to the visiting personalities, to Manjeshwar Mohandas Kamath for making it happen and to the members for their active participation in the programme.

Dr Surendra Nayak compered. The programme ended with a scrumptious dinner arranged by Bhajan satsang hosts Srinath Bhat and Vishwanath Prabhu.
