Bengaluru, Sep 30: M Veerappa Moily, former chief minister and MP, said that if he was the petroleum minister at the centre now, he would have provided petrol to the people at the rate of Rs 45 a litre. He was speaking after presiding over the 'Gandhi Nadige' workshop organized by the Congress party at Soladevanahalli wthin Yalahanka assembly constituency limits on Wednesday September 29.
He wonders how there can be a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi who is not moved by the problems of the farmers who have been agitating for the last three months in the streets of the nation. He said that the Congress party is aiming at filling Hesaraghatta pond that was the first ever source of water supply to the city in the past, with water diverted from Yettinahole project and thereby turning this entire areas green.
MLA Krishna Byregowda, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working presidents, R Ramalinga Reddy and Saleem Ahmed, Bengaluru (north) district Congress president M Rajkumar, MLC Narayana Swamy and party leaders Gopalakrishna, Jayaram, Keshava Rajanna, Adde Manjunath and others were present.
Ramalinga Reddy said that the Congress never sold the country but the BJP is selling the government owned companies by privatising them. He said that this is leading the country towards bankruptcy. He said that the BJP is not a patriotic party and that the main aim of the Congress is to root out the BJP from the country.
