Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 inaugural at Delhi: Bantwal municipal president, chief officer attending

Bantwal, Oct 1: Bantwal municipal president and chief officer will be participating in the inaugural of the central government's Swachh Bharat Mission - urban 2.0 scheduled for Friday September 1 at New Delhi. On this occasion, the annual festival of Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Transformation (AMRUT) is also being held.

Heads of six urban local administrations have received an invite to attend the function in the light of effective implementation of Swachh Bharat scheme. Mohammed Sharif, local municipal president and chief officer Leena Britto, left for New Delhi on an invitation from the directorate of municipal administration of the central government on Thursday September 30. The programme being held at Dr Ambedkar International Center will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bantwal happens to be the only administration to have been chosen to participate in this programme from coastal Karnataka. The other urban bodies which have been selected for this programme from Karnataka are Mysuru, Davanagere and Shivamogga city corporations, as well as Hoskote and Shiggaon municipalities.
