Bengaluru, Oct 4: Rumours that 20 former and sitting MLAs of Congress and JD (S) have had discussions with state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel and will join BJP soon has created intense disappointment among the root BJP members of the state. It is said that the root BJP members are opposing this move vehemently.
Already state BJP MLAs and party workers are unhappy that migrant MLAs of JD (S) and Congress, because of whom BJP formed government in the state, are given more prominence than the root BJP members.
It is also said that more than half of the ministers in the state BJP government are the migrants and they are not giving due recognition to the root BJP members.
It is learnt that the party workers are trying to make the leaders of the party understand that more migrant MLAs from Congress and JD (S) will reduce the chances of root BJP members in the next elections of getting a ticket.
Activities of the party are getting strengthened in old Mysuru province, in addition to Hassan and Mandya districts, it is said. It is also opined that import of more leaders from other parties will lead to internal rife within the party.
According to party sources, the party high command has not given go ahead to take more leaders of other political parties into BJP. Some state BJP leaders have brought it to the notice of high command that more migrant leaders will lead to disappearance of ideology of the party.
