JD(S) Releases Horsetrade CD, Congress Urges Prez Rule

Bangalore, Oct 21 (PTI): JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today released a CD containing purported conversation in which a BJP MLA allegedly tries to lure one of his party legislators to desert JD(S).

The JD(S)' Karnataka unit president and Lok Sabha member released the CD at a press conference, also attended by the party's MLA from Gubbi, S R Srinivas Vasu.

Vasu alleged that BJP MLA from Tumkur Rural, B Suresh Gowda, tried to lure him with money and claimed that the CD contains the purported conversation.

"We will complain to the Governor (H R Bhardwaj) and seek his action demanding dismissal of the government," Kumaraswamy said.

Suresh Gowda, meanwhile, dismissed the CD as "fake" and charged Kumaraswamy with making desperate attempts to destabilise the B S Yeddyurappa government. "Let there be an enquiry," he said.

Congress urges Centre to impose President's rule in State

Bangalore, Oct 21 (PTI): An apparent bruised Congress today asked the Centre to impose President's rule in Karnataka after two of its MLAs resigned from the assembly, a step which, the party alleged, was due to the ruling BJP luring them.

The B S Yeddyurappa-led BJP government should be dismissed for indulging in "horse trading", Congress leader in the assembly Siddaramaiah told reporters here.

"The acts of the Yeddyurappa government are illegal and unconstitutional," Siddaramaiah said.

BJP's renewed "operation lotus" (to lure MLAs from other parties) has led to M C Ashwath of JD(S), S V Ramachandra and M Narayanaswamy (both Congress) resigning in the past few days.

"Speaker K G Bopaiah has not been verifying whether the MLAs were resigning on their own volition or under pressure while accepting their resignation letters," he said.

About 40 MLAs had been approached by the BJP, he claimed.

"We urge the government of India to take cognizance of all the things happening in Karnataka and to impose Article 356 as the government has no right to continue after it failed to act as per the provisions of the constitution," he said.

KPCC president R V Deshpande said it was illegal to lure MLAs when the fate of the October 14 vote of confidence was still pending before the court. He said plans to expand the cabinet was also unconstitutional when the issue of whether the BJP government enjoyed the support of the majority was still being decided.

He also alleged that the Speaker's post has been misused by the chief minister to disqualify the 16 MLAs and Bopaiah was acting as the "agent" of Yeddyurappa government.

The KPCC also announced the expulsion of Ramachandra and Narayanaswamy from the party.

It appears to me that the video was taken with someone holding the camera and moving around. How come Suresh did not notice the same? Is my observation wrong? The CD should be analyzed by an independent agency for authenticity.

BSY position has become like “Ingu thinda Manga” He is running away from Media, after release of C.D. This shows how much dirty games BSY is playing to hold on to his seat. I hope the judges consider all these points during their verdict on Rebel MLAs and give a fair judgement.

Even before this CD is out people were aware of the “Horse trading” being done in exchange of crores of rupees. I have been closely watching politics in Karnataka since 40 odd years but I have not seen any ruling party going such a low to be in power. People are ashamed of the happenings but the real culprit Mr. Suresh Gowda still arguing (even present on TV programmes) as if nothing has happened and this shows the level of arrogance and the power going to his head. This Suresh Gowda was earlier implicated in forgery marks card scandal and now very close to the Home minister and helping him to do these illegal activities.

BJP has not learnt lessons. Recently 16 MLAs (most of them were bought under operation kamala scheme I) revolted against the party and created trouble for the ruling party. Again they are going for another operation kamala without understanding the implications on later date.

Yedyurappa, please remember –“For every action there will be equal and opposite reaction” and you can not escape this reality.

BJP fans are hell bent on discrediting others while keeping silient on the guys with BJP. Corruption is criminal, nothing can be expected better from yeddy. Yeddy has failed to save karnataka from corruption, now it proves he is part of it. He had all the powers and instead of doing any good to the state, his only achievement in last two years is, saving his own chair, from his own people.

This MLA was aimed by BJP immediately after elections a year back or so.Bjp was hunting for this mla all along then. The Cd by all means looks correct and genuine. In any case things have become so pass in Yeddy rule that these cds are no more taken seriously.A strong actionplan to be choked out to eliminate unethical and very very cheap methods adopted by BJP to pull mlas .There is no point in becoming Mla anymore if elected Mlas are tempted like this by BJP a shameful act.

Its funny to note it is PEOPLE who justify corruption. If it is BJP, its fans say its allright, because congress has done it earlier. Congress fans say, congress never involved in so much corruption like BJP. JD(s) fans say there is no proof against them. Yet, everyone admits politicians are greedy, power hungry and absolutely corrupt.

I think it is not far away when all theses Shrimaan's are thrashed by public whereever they go.

There are people still supporting BJP eventhough a stage has come mlas are not even allowed to walk on the streets(one can remember what used to happen in olden days where people used to close their doors before the sunset due to the fear of being taken away) . This is the darkest moment of Karnataka. Kumar and siddu get up and do a alliance before its too late & put this Govt out of Karnataka history.Kumar when you were cm we used to see lot of downtrodden in front of your house and you used to help them. Now we see procession of MLAs asking for ministership in front of cm house and handful of downtrodden only. Keep it up Kumar and siddu. Remember a thorn has to be taken out from thorn itself .

HDk is now unemployed and want some publicity and that is all it is. I advise such politicians not waste your time by playing gimmicks. Do some concrete things for the benefit of the peoples.

everyone knows that the whole lot, including the 3 main parties along with the independents are corrupt. now we just got confirmation. JDS cannot claim high ground after luring the 15 MLAs undoubtedly with money. congress being on their sidelines too is not clean. RVdeshpande was caught looting flood relief money. reddy brothers of the bjp is all too well known.

the whole incident is now just a long story of validating what we always thought - money is the name of the game, not even a single MLA or a party is above it!
