Bengaluru, Oct 4: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said women should be financially self-reliant and promised to extend all help to women entrepreneurs from the government.
He was addressing the interaction programme of women entrepreneurs organised by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Federation of Ladies Organisation in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said all women must be able to work and the country’s economy will improve when the number of people working increases. The government will provide subsidy and other incentives to ensure that women become successful in their ventures, he said.
The role of women in nation building is very important and they are much more capable than men as women are generally known for multi-tasking handling different responsibilities at home and in work places. The economic empowerment of women is crucial for the progress of the country, he said.
State Advocate General Prabhulinga Navadgi and FICCI Ladies Organisation President Revathy Raju were among the other speakers.
