Ramanagara, Oct 6: Former chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy, addressed a press meet here on Tuesday October 5, where he slammed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Kumaraswamy claimed that the BJP has been working as per the diktats of the RSS. "Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been working like a puppet in the hands of the RSS. The RSS is ruling the nation, not BJP," he claimed.

He said that the RSS and others have been engaged in malicious propaganda about the JD(S)."I have been reading a book about RSS. Its growth received a boost in 1990 when Advani was building the BJP. Reportedly, he had spoken about Jinnah in one of the meetings. Advani got a message thereafter, asking him to visit the RSS office. As one goes on reading this book, he realises about the organization’s hidden agenda," he said.

Kumaraswamy said that he has been reading this book for the last six to seven months. He felt that unless the young people of the nation become wiser, the future will hold challenges. "If we do not place before the people the truth even after coming to know of it, it leads to treachery. We need a government in Karnataka that extends protection to all the religions. Every family should get fundamental rights. RSS has not discussed the poverty and other problems faced by the country. Its only agenda is to keep the country under its grip," he analysed.

Kumaraswamy, speaking about the incident in Uttar Pradesh n which a car had caused the death of a few agitating farmers, asked the people to introspect why this incident happened. He pointed out that the BJP government has come to power there with the support of RSS. He explained the agenda of the RSS is to lead the country back to the times of Manu. "We too are Hindus, but Hindutwa is not at the top of our agenda. The government should first provide work to the hands that can work. Let them attend to the problems of the poor of the state first," he stated.

Kumaraswamy said that if the government of Uttar Pradesh had respect for the farmers, those who drove the vehicle over the farmers should have been arrested instead of extending protection. He said that if common people had done this, they would have been arrested immediately. "We keep hearing that Uttar Pradesh has become peaceful after Yogi Adityanath became the chief minister and wondered whether this is the peace they are boasting of. "Innocents are killed and there is bloodshed. Modi has never invited any farmer for talks. If he talks, the problem can be addressed. The CM here says that the farmers protest is sponsored. How has he come up in the party? Of course, through agitations. If the Congress had managed the affairs properly the country would not have been in a mess. Because of their reckless governance, the environment has been polluted. We know how they were behaving when their party was enjoying power for a very long period," he commented.

Kumaraswamy criticised Congress and BJP leaders for giving deadlines and then forgetting it. He said that the JD(S) can only be a successful alternative to the Congress and the BJP. "Our party can alone properly implement irrigation projects. Congress said it planned to utilise Krishna water but what did they do? Apparently, these are election gimmicks. Siddaramaiah takes credit for Yettinahole project. What happened now?" he questioned.
