Mangaluru, Oct 7: The leopard which has been giving sleepless nights to the people after it was sighted twice in the recent past was seen again at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday October 6 at Red Building in Maroli here. It was seen near the house of a local named Sunita.
After the information was conveyed to the forest department officials, the officials arrived and found the paw marks of the animal in the region. Even though the officials conducted an operation for some time, the leopard could not be found. A trap has been placed there. The officials said that the operation will continue.
Trap set by forest officials
Sunita, who sighted the animal, said that she heard a loud sound and after the children alerted her, she came out and saw the leopard going towards a rubber plantation. She said she could see it from behind and called the helpline number 112. The forest officials came there. She suspects that the leopard might be among the bushes, plants and shrubs that have grown in the rubber plantation.
