Veena Rebimbus Releases Wilson Olivera’s Fifth musical Album

Dubai, Oct 25: “Tuvem Gaythana”, “Konkani Manik, Sangeeth Sardar, ”well known music composer and singer Wilson Olivera’s 5th Konkani musical album dedicated to late Wilfy Rebimbus was released by Veena Rebimbus, daughter Konkan Kogul late Wilfy Rebimbus during the grand finals of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2010 held at Sheik Rashid Auditorium in Dubai on October 22, 2010. The occasion, the venue and the crowd assembled from different parts of the gulf proved to be a fitting forum for the release of this album, looked forward to eagerly by all the fans of Wilson. Wilson's brother and well known toastmaster Ronald Olivera, Valerian Peris and Michael D Souza of Mangalore Konkans were also present on the dais during the release of the album.
The album composed and sung by Wilson along with other prominent Konkani singers is dedicated to the legendary singer late Wilfy, is said to be one-of-its kind which pays glowing tributes to the late legendary singer. It also has a song specially dedicated to the air crash victims of Mangalore. It also includes romantic and sentimental numbers and the mixed collection of songs in the album is sure to touch a chord among his numerous fans and all the lovers of Konkani music.
The album was recorded at Rajsri Studio, Calicut and Sandesha Studio Mangalore. Joel Pereira and renowned music composer and director, popularly known as the Sangeet guru in Konkani music, has provided mellifluous background music for the album.
Along with Wilson, singers like Rony D Cunha, Pradeep Pinto, Prashanth Pinto, Zeena Pereira and Babitha Pinto have provided melody to the songs.
This is the 5th album of lyricist-composer-singer Wilson Olivera who has over 800 compositions to his credit and is an established name in the Konkani music world. He has been the recipient of the prestigious ‘Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy’, ‘Divo Sahitya Puraskar” in recognition of his extraordinary music talent.
