Bengaluru, Oct 10: Former chief minister and senior JD (S) leader Kumaraswamy on Sunday October 10 taunted former chief minister and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah over his statement that intelligent voters will not cast their vote for the JD (S) party in Sindagi and it will only get a third spot in the by-election.
Taunting Siddaramaiah for his statement through a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy said, "It seems that Siddaramaiah will not get sleep if he does not criticise JD(S). There is no history of Congress attaining second position in Sindagi. Now they are abusing the party which gave them new lease of life in politics in Karnataka."
He further said, "Congress is making a vain attempt to cash in on the sympathy wave created due to the death of M C Managuli. They have hijacked Managuli’s son from our party. As the public came to know about the ‘Siddakale’ Siddaramaiah is trying to get sympathy from the public.
"Siddahastha has taken out a diktat that intelligent voters will not vote JD (S). Will the public dance to the tunes of Siddaramaiah? This is an arrogant statement that insults the public of Sindagi. People of Sindagi will give a fitting answer to this statement," he said.
"There should be a limit to lies. It is my opinion that it is immoral to create wrong impression in the minds of the public about a person who is no more. KPCC president D K Shivakumar has insulted late leader M C Managuli by lying blatantly.
"D K Shivakumar says that 15 days prior to his death, the late Managuli had taken his son Ashok to the house of Shivakumar and said 'I am old now. My health is failing. I don’t know how many days more I will live. I am giving my son Ashok into the hands of you and Siddaramaiah'. No other example is required to prove that members of Congress are experts in lying. The reality is that when Managuli got infected with Covid, we only got him admitted to Apollo hospital in the city. He fought for his life for 19 days in the hospital," he said.
"Managuli got admitted to Apollo hospital on January 9 and died on January 28 there itself. Managuli’s children and I also could not see him in his last days as he was getting treated in Covid ICU. Before that he had got treated in Vijayapura hospital for more than one and half months.
"So when did Managuli go to D K Shivakumar’s house and ask him to take care of his children? His blatant lies are so filthy. In addition to hijacking Ashok Managuli who should have been the candidate of our party, they are making a garland of lies and trying to con the public,” he added.
"There is no need of fooling the public of Sindagi. Leaders of the Congress party who did not have a candidate are desperate now. The attempt to insult the personality of late Managuli, who had utter faith in our party and H D Deve Gowda by the Congress party is not right," Kumaraswamy said.
