Mangalore: District Bids Warm Farewell to DC Ponnuraj

Mangalore, Oct 26: Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj was bid a warm farewell at the premises of DC's office here on Tuesday October 26.

The officials from the various departments of the district spoke on the occasion and everyone appreciated his successful tenure. His efficiency, commitment, and other unique contributions were highlighted in the speeches delivered on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Ponnuraj said, all his achievements were the results team work and added that he would never forget the co-operation given by the people of the district.

His courageous in taking up ‘operation demolition’ against some establishment whose buildings were constructed violating norms and conditions and clean city green city concepts were recalled by the people gathered.

Shivashankar, chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat presided.

He said that Ponnuraj is a model for all DCs and government officials. Admiring Ponnuraj’s visionary plans, he said that despite being transferred to another district, the he would be remembered in Dakshina Kannada for decades to come.

Additional deputy commissioner Prabhakar Sharma, in his welcome address had words of praise for his senior.

Mangalore City Corporation commissioner K N Vijayprakash, PWD engineer Balasubrahmanya, Kannada activist Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, thinker Keshavadharani, and president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry G G Mohandas Prabhu also spoke on the occasion.

New Dakshina Kannada district depytu commissioner Subodh Yadav, Udupi DC and Ponnuraj’s wife P Hemalatha, deputy commisioner of police R Ramesh and additional superintendent of police Prabhakar among others were present.

    My big salute you sir (DC V Ponnuraj), you have done excellent job in Mangalore. I don't think anyone could have done this, example Widening Car Street Road and many other important jobs. During political campaign politicians can claim that they have done it, but we the general public knows who has done it, only people like DC V Ponnuraj can do the challenging job like this. We are going to miss you sir.

    DC V Ponnuraj Transferred,definitely a good and well timed decision whoever may be behind this should be thanked.He has not done anything to dist except blocked all development money which was given to develop our district.
