New Delhi: Parameshwar, New Congress Chief of Karnataka State

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IANS): The Congress Tuesday named Captain Amarinder Singh as the new party president in Punjab and G.Parmeshwar as the state unit chief in Karnataka.

While the new state unit chiefs were announced for Punjab and Karnataka, the party decided to retain Kaul Singh Thakur as party chief in Himachal Pradesh, Ramesh Chennithala in Kerala and Rita Bahuguna Joshi in Uttar Pradesh, said Oscar Fernandes, chairman of the central election authority of the party.

The party also retained Manas Ranjan Bhunia in West Bengal and Jaiprakash Agrawal in Delhi, he added.

The names were approved by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who had been authorised by the state party units to choose their chiefs.

    Good choice, educated, best of luck for Dr. G. Parmeshwar we like to see lots of improvement in Congress party, I hope this guy will force his MLAs t reach to the common man to understand their problems instead of wasting their time in Bangalore in unnecessary things. BJP won’t come to power in Karnataka any more, people are tired of it. No need to pull Yedyurappan legs, he has already lost his popularity, people have lost confidence in Bharatiya Jangly Party. When Party work for the public, public too recognize them during election.

    Now Siddu will jump from CONG to JDS. He already met Revanna last nite. He is a opportunist. Idiot politician. He now comes to know that his seat is also in ICU. So now he is getting closer to JDS Party and deffinately will join JDS very soon. wait and see all congress party supports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    He spent all his time by doing strikes , opposing BJP and asking BSY to resign. thats his greate jobs as a opposition leader. He never fight for karanatak people. He is next devegauda of karnataka.

    Langoolacharya, Belman/USA, he is not a runaway material. He is the future chief minister of Karnataka. He holds a doctorate degree in agriculture from Adelaide University in South Australia, will bring agricultural development to Karnataka, which is essential. Do you think all congressmen are same like the one you have seen during your time in Congress? Rahul Gandhi is burgeoning a new breed of Congressmen. In a few years time perhaps you will change your opinion.

    I think at present wats going on in karnatak you can see all these ill monkey are ruling karnataka and ruin the state, all these theives who are dipped in bribe should be put behind bars,and these politician who accept bribe and lead their lives wat wil they lead the state?

    I personally feel, this is a very good choice. Dr Parameshwar is clean, honest,highly educated & a cultured person. In fact, he should have been given the position long back. If the Congress party is really serious about reviving its fortunes in the State, he should be given a free hand & all the so-called seniors must be asked to extend full cooperation & support. Otherwise, there is no point in appointing a real gentleman like Dr Parameshwar. Nobody however big or senior should be allowed to be a back-seat driver.
