Kuwait, Oct 26: Rendezvous-2010, the hallmark event of SACAA Kuwait was held recently at Asia Hall, Kuwait, wherein a large number of alumni and well-wishers of St Aloysius College, Mangalore reunited to celebrate their bond.

The year 2010 being SACAA Kuwait’s successful completion of five years of existence in Kuwait added to the sense of joy and celebration that marked the event.

Rendezvous is an event where Alumni and well-wishers of St Aloysius College come together to celebrate the unique bonding that they share through their college. In addition, there is always the underlying focus on catering to the needs of the underprivileged students and society in Mangalore. Since its inception, SACAA Kuwait has been focussing on its mission of supporting its alma mater through various initiatives under the Aloysian umbrella with the sole objective of supporting and educating children back home.

The event commenced with a brief formal programme. Prashant K, president of SACAA Kuwait welcomed the gathering. To add further flavour to the celebration, founder of SACAA Kuwait, Archie Menezes along with the executive committee of SACAA cut a cake to celebrate the five successful years of existence of the association in Kuwait. The souvenir for the event was then released by Adrian Pais, one of the founding members of SACAA Kuwait.

A dress-up competition based on cartoon or fairy tale characters was conducted for children of various ages, the results of which were as follows:

Category 1-4 years: First place - Sian Colaco
                             Second place - Adrian Colaco

Category 4-7 years: First place - Nicole Lasrado
                             Second place - Shania Fernandes

Category 8-12 years:First place - Carice
                              Second place - Clevon Miranda

DJ Kiran played some fabulous music ranging across all genres thereby keeping almost everyone one their feet for most of the programme. The packed dance floor definitely proved that a mix of fun and social responsibility can be really balanced very well.

During the course of the programme, the SACAA fund raising raffle was conducted. The prizes were as follows.

First prize - Vanessa Castelino
Second prize - Thomas Simon
Third prize - Sairah
Five consolation prizes - Jalaluddeen, Sunil, Ghazal Al Chami, Amith Furtado and Rupert D'Souza.

Throughout the session, fantastic spot prizes kept the entire crowd guessing and waiting for the next set of games and prizes. Merwyn compered the programme and kept the audience completely tuned in throughout the course of the evening.

A sumptuous buffet and a great round of music brought the curtains down on an evening of fun and frolic, leaving the guests yearning for more.

Congrtulations to all SACAA- Kuwait executive members for organizing Rendezvous 2010. It was heartening to see so many Aloysians and their families on that evening. The response from ALosians was quite good. However we need to further strengthen SACAA- Kuwait and make it vibrant again. Kuwait has a large number of Aloysians and our sincere call to all the non members to register with SACAA_KUWAIT. YOu can log on to site and register yourself. The committee has planned some programs for the coming months and we wish to see the partciaption of a larger number of Aloysians for these events.
I am confident that under the leadership of the charismatic young Prashanth Karivellur and his energetic and enthusiastic committee members surely SACAA will flourish again.

    CONGRATULATIONS.
I am happy to know that RENDEZVOUS-2010 was organized with all pomp and splendor under the leadership of Prashanth K, the President of SACAA-Kuwait and his team. It is indeed heartening to see our alumni and friends gathering regularly , celebrating companionship and friendship, remembering those “happy and memorable days” while they were students at SAC, and at the same time having a soft corner to the under-privileged students and the needs and developmental projects of their alma mater, St Aloysius College.

I am also grateful to Mr Archie Menezes, the founder President of SACAA-Kuwait for the initiatives he has undertaken to make the alumni association very vibrant. Besides that he has been visiting our NEW CAMPUS at Beeri, Kotekar regularly.
St Aloysius College has been growing in leaps and bounds, and now that we have ACADEMIC AUTONOMY we are able to offer the best to our students and train them to be leaders of tomorrow. The MBA and IT programmes ( MCA, MS(software Technology), M Sc(Bioinformatics) have moved to the new campus at Beeri ,where we are offering world class facilities. Our aim is to make this campus one of the best in India and also one among the TOP TEN B-Schools in India. I extend to you a cordial invite to visit this place whenever you are in Mangalore.
I wish all our alumni/ae of St Aloysius College all the best.
