Mangalore, Oct 30: ‘Riverbed of Flowing Imagination’, an exhibition of paintings by Bhawana Choudhary Chandra from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh which was inaugurated on Friday October 29 is drawing a large number of art enthusiasts.

The exhibition hosted by Orchid Art Gallery at its premises in Balmatta will remain open for public viewing till November 10 from 10 am to 7 pm.

Pradeep G Pai, managing director of Hangyo Ice Creams Pvt Ltd inaugurated the exhibition which will have 26 paintings on display in different sizes. Bhawana Chaudhary has 10 solo shows to her credit held in different parts of India and the current show will be her 11th solo exhibition.

“There are moments in daily grind of life, when we just want to be left alone. So we could close our eyes and dream of what is happening and the sweet happenings that lie buried afresh. These fleeting moments give us strength and direction. It is here, that we try to make sense of the fantasy world. I have tried to capture this world on the canvas”, says the ace artist Choudhary.

About Bhawana Choudhary Chandra

Bhawana was born in Bhopal in the year 1972. She possesses a post graduate degree in drawing and painting from Government Girls College (Nutan College), Bhopal.

She has been awarded junior fellowship for paintings for two years by Government of India, ministry of tourism and culture (2000-02). She has several honours to her credit including Bimal Mitra Award and state award MP Kala Parishad.

Unique Style of Painting

Bhawana’s paintings are more towards abstract forms. The bold colour palette used in her paintings gives our eyes a soothing effect, as each painting transforms us from the deep recesses of hidden memories to a fantasy world.

Her paintings are a world of fantasy or rather a world of every person’s colourful imagination. Each of her creation is a communication with nature and its elements, be it birds and the surroundings or the coming of light at dawn and its going away at dusk.
