Mangalore, Oct 30: Rubbishing allegations by the state ruling party that governor H R Bhardwaj was being partisan in his dealings with the political situation in the state, union minister M Veerappa Moily insisted that the governor is a constituional authority and no political party has the right to question him.

He was speaking to mediapersons at circuit house here on Saturday October 30.

Moily said that BJP has wrongly termed the governor as a Congressman. There should not be any public debate on the conduct of the governor and his status as a constitutions authority should be respected, he said.

Launching an attack on BJP, Moily alleged that BJP has been 'murdering' democracy by openly exercising 'Operation Lotus' and indulging in horsetrading without any fear of the law. He held BJP responsible for the recent resignations of the two Congress MLAs.

He refused to comment on the verdict passed by the High Court on the disqualification of the MLAs, and said that Congress has nothing to do with the issue of rebel MLAs and reiterated that it was their own internal matter.

Moreover, he pointed out that there was no proof of Congress party's hand in the political developments in the state. Insisting that Congress had no role in the mass defections, he said that BJP itself was to blame for it and that a 'vertical split' in the party brought about by Reddy brothers' affiliation with Sushma Swaraj was the reason for the party's near-collapse.

Speaking on the proposed plans of the union law ministry, Moily said that the government is trying hard to bring about a 'movement' by promoting rural courts. The government plans to increase the non-recurring expenditure grant for setting up of rural courts from Rs 18 lac to Rs 28.50 lac per court, and has also earmarked Rs 11,000 crore for the infrastructural development of subordinate courts in the country, he said.

Mr Moily is playing local panchayath level politics.Better he concentrate on strengthening his party which has lost it's ground in Karnataka,And minority community should appreciate the good work of B J P,instead of blindly hanging behind Conngi's,and isolating from mainstream,

The BJP leaders are not having any rights to tell either the Central Government or to the President to sack Government. The court decision we must respect either it is right or wrong. In many cases high court verdict changed by Supreme court. The verdict is all based on the judge and his knowledge and how he is analyzing the whole issue. When Supreme Court gave total opposite verdict it doesn’t mean that the high court is wrong or the judge must resign. In the same way Governor gave his suggestion what he felt is good.

Now coming to the point these BJP leaders must think very wisely before commenting any issues because their party MLA’s having many issue like rape, cheating, threatening and massacre cases. Are they asked them to resign or any action is taken by the BJP leaders? The answer is NO. Let the BJP leaders must shut till they are cleaning their heart, body and soul, but I am not sure whether they have it or not??

Governor means the person who is qualified to GOVERN the state Government and can make final decisions when state government go beyond the boundry lines for selfish gain to glue-up their chairs and I am very sure Karnataka governor is fully qualified as he was a Law minister in central government.

    Dr M Veerappa Moilyji,

Correct, Governor is beyond politics, and out of scope of crtisism, Well said Moily mamu....

Now Rural Courts are presided by whom?

Congressmen like you or Constitutional pundits like Bhardwaj???

There are few ex Land Tribunal members in CONgress party known for their expertise in constutional law, you may appoint them to preside our rural courts....I am sure people like Ismell Perinje etc will be delighted.
