Bengaluru, Oct 24: Karnataka on Sunday October 24 continued to maintain a steady rate of decline in the number of coronavirus cases, with the state recording 388 new infections.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 8,711. Among the districts, Bengaluru Urban registered the highest number of single-day cases with 194 new infections, while Tumakuru reported 37 new cases and Dakshina Kannada 34.
A total of five deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Bengaluru accounting for four of them, and the other one being from Tumakuru. With this, the toll so far has risen to 38,007.
The state recorded 586 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 29,39,239.
So far, Karnataka has seen 29,85,986 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.32%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.28%.
As many as 6,33,45,813 people have received vaccination so far.
