Mangaluru, Oct 29: Bajrang Dal and Durgavahini submitted a memorandum urging police commissioner to stop Halloween parties in the pubs in the city.
In a memorandum submitted to police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, the organisation stated, “Several pubs in city are being run illegally and will be open till late night. We receiving complaints that youths visiting these pubs are getting addicted to drugs.
“On October 30 and 31, pubs have organised Halloween parties. Free entries have been arranged for girls in these parties. Such parties are against our culture. There is suspicion that in such parties, drug racket takes place. Several students are addicted to drugs. Hence, such parties should not be allowed and the pubs running violating the law should be restricted,” they stated in the memorandum.
Vibhag Matrushakthi Pramukh Surekharaj, district Durgavahini convener Shwetha Adyapadi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Nithesh Rai and Shailesh Adka were present.
