Mangaluru: Kerala, Karnataka buses not to resume trips for now

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Oct 30: Karnataka and Kerala buses may not start operations into each other's territory at least for a week from now. This is because of the unsatisfactory Covid19 situation in Kerala.

Messages shared in social media sites had claimed that buses between the city and Kasargod might resume from November 1. But the Dakshina Kannada district administration has clarified that bus operations will not begin between these two states at least for a week from now.

Physical classes including primary, high schools and colleges in Karnataka have begun offline classes. Kerala students numbering over 2,000, studying in educational institutions in Karnataka have to produce coronavirus negative certificates before entering Karnataka. However, these students have the choice of attending online classes in the meanwhile. But most of the students and their parents prefer physical classes.

Kerala has a corona positivity rate of between 10 and 14 percent with the situation in Kasargod being a little better. Dakshina Kannada has a positivity rate of between 0.4 and 0.45 percent.

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation officials say that they are ready to run buses to Karnataka but because of the ban imposed on the entry of their buses into Karnataka, they are now unable to operate the buses. Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra K V, said that inter-state buses to Kerala cannot be started unless the positivity rate there falls below five percent. He said that a suitable decision would be taken after a week depending on the situation prevailing then.

Karnataka suspect the Kerala busses are running on Corona virous and not by diesel. This is called Thughlak Dharbaar....... Any common man can understand that there is no point on their policy.

This looks funny and nonsense because absolutely no COVID protocols followed everywhere in Karnataka.
