Bengaluru: Govt issues guidelines for Diwali celebration, only green crackers allowed

Bengaluru, Oct 31: The state government has released guidelines for the celebration of Diwali festival as well as Kannada Rajyotsava.

During Diwali, permission is given to use only green firecrackers, while for Rajyotsava celebration a maximum of 500 people are allowed.

Green firecrackers can be sold only from November 1 to 10 and only in shops that have obtained license to sell the same. The shops must strictly follow Covid protocol, ensuring social distancing among customers and not allowing any crowding.

During the celebration of Rajyotsava, a maximum of 500 people are allowed to participate. Social distance needs to be maintained at the spot of hoisting the flag. Hand sanitizer needs to be used and masks should be worn without fail.

Organizations have to obtain permission from district or taluk authorities concerned to celebrate Rajyotsava.
Cultural programmes should be minimum during Rajyotsava celebration.

Police, fire department, health and family welfare department, district administrations and corporations have been instructed to ensure that guidelines are followed.
